The Assistant Director of People Services (HR) is responsible for administering and managing the People Services operation, as well as meeting established financial expectations and quality standards. This includes keeper of the culture, associate relations, recruiting, training & development, and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all resort policies/procedures/standards. 
  • Drive benefits strategy at property level – Open Enrollment, monthly enrollments, semi-annual hours compliance, benefits eligibility, etc. 
  • Oversee and work with People Services Managers & Coordinators in administration of Leave of Absences, UKG data entry and associate benefit tactics
  • Resolve internal guests (associates) complaints, ensuring satisfaction
  • Effective listening, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by associates
  • Expert knowledge of government regulations pertaining to HR – Wage & Hour, record keeping, etc.
  • Oversee Performance Management and ensure performance evaluations are conducted in a timely manner for all associates.  As well as assist in goal setting and performance management as it relates to annual/mid year reviews.
  • Act as a catalyst for change and continuously seek to raise the bar for the property as an Employer of Choice
  • Foster a positive work environment conducive to professional and personal growth and development
  • Ensure high standards of personal appearance and grooming of staff
  • Develop and maintain all communication to associates
  • Partner with People Services Director on succession planning
  • Assist in coaching, counseling and disciplinary actions
  • Oversees annual compliance internal audits, associate engagement surveys and national certifications
  • Conduct and facilitate new hire employee orientation

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by supervisor based on requirements/needs of the resort:
    • Participate in strategic planning including staffing, training and financial objectives
    • Attend appropriate meetings
    • Assist with recruitment and interviewing
    • Assist in all other HR generalist duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows and with the ability to learn HRIS systems
  • Fluency in English. Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of hotel business preferred but not required.
  • Ability to understand quality management practices and teaches to others.
  • Ability to provide legible communication.
  • Team oriented
  • Work with little to no supervision
  • Strong decision making and good judgment skills
  • Proper telephone etiquette 

Compensation:

Base Pay Start Rate: $100,000 - $115,000/Yr
