Join Our Team as a Catering Sales Manager at the Historic Magnolia St. Louis.
The Catering Manager will be responsible for maximizing revenue, building strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional guest service by effectively selling, negotiating, and detailing events. This role requires both sales and event execution skills, ensuring seamless communication between clients and the hotel team.
Develop and execute catering sales plans, goals, and strategies to drive revenue.
Prospect, solicit, and close new business while maintaining relationships with repeat clients.
Conduct outside sales calls, cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and hosting site inspections.
Meet with clients to detail their events and communicate requirements to the hotel team.
Escort clients on property tours, highlighting features, event spaces, and services.
Collaborate with the F&B Director, Banquet Manager, and Chef to design creative menus and new product ideas.
Establish and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
Meet and greet clients on event days and supervise execution as needed.
Provide guidance on conference technology and audiovisual needs.
Entertain prospective clients and represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and community organizations.
Keep current with local market trends and the competitive landscape.
Ensure accurate processing of contracts, billing, and other administrative tasks.
Attend internal hotel meetings and client functions to ensure client satisfaction.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Previous hospitality and/or catering sales experience required; sales management experience a plus.
Strong negotiation skills and experience with sales contracts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to multi-task.
Strategic sales planning, prospecting, and follow-up skills.
Experience with sales management software, social media sales tools, and contract administration.
Knowledge of conference technology and AV needs.
Previous CITY (local/regional) market experience preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
