Overview

The Assistant Director of Sales supports the Director of Sales & Marketing in leading the resort’s sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, maximize market share, and ensure exceptional client relationships. This role is responsible for overseeing sales operations, managing team performance, supporting marketing initiatives, and ensuring the resort remains competitive in a dynamic hospitality market.

 

Annual Salary $100,000/year-$120,000/year

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the Sales & Marketing department, including personnel, budgets, forecasting, and daily operations.

  • Partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute sales strategies that drive group, leisure, and transient business.

  • Support the team in lead generation, solicitation, negotiation, and closing processes to maximize sales opportunities.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and economic factors to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Contribute to marketing campaigns and initiatives that enhance brand visibility and guest engagement.

  • Oversee departmental reporting, ensuring accuracy in profit/loss ratios, forecasts, and budget performance.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to sales team members to improve effectiveness and achieve departmental goals.

  • Collaborate with operations and other resort departments to ensure seamless client experiences and maximize repeat business.

  • Ensure effective communication with clients, colleagues, and leadership teams to support strong business relationships.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of sales team management, departmental operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.

  • Strong understanding of the hotel sales process, including prospecting, solicitation, negotiation, and closing techniques.

  • In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.

  • Excellent communication skills in English—verbal, written, and comprehension.

  • Ability to prepare clear proposals, reports, memos, and correspondence with attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop sales team members.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous leadership experience in resort or luxury hotel sales and marketing

  • Familiarity with revenue management principles & digital marketing strategies
