Job Summary:

 

The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of all technology systems across Black Desert Resort. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, audiovisual technologies, and network operations. The Director ensures that all systems support the resort’s business objectives, enhance guest and employee experiences, and operate with maximum efficiency and security.

This position also partners closely with senior leadership, Finance, Operations, and external vendors to ensure the resort’s technology ecosystem is reliable, secure, and scalable as the resort continues to expand.

Onsite: Black Desert Resort
Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time

Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000/year plus incentive bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the resort’s overall IT strategy, aligning technology objectives with business goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including networks, servers, data centers, and all connected systems.
  • Manage and maintain key hospitality systems, including PMS, POS, accounting, telecommunications, door lock systems, CRM, and digital signage.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring compliance with data protection standards and PCI-DSS requirements.
  • Partner with department heads to evaluate, select, and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage IT budgets, capital expenditures, vendor relationships, and technology procurement.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards for data integrity, system use, and user access.
  • Supervise and mentor the IT team, providing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure continuous uptime and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations on smart-building integrations, sustainability systems, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Lead project management for technology deployments, renovations, and new openings.
  • Monitor system performance analytics and report results to the Managing Director and ownership.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for CoralTree Hospitality and Reef Capital technology integration standards.
  • Maintain vendor and service provider relationships, negotiating service level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring contractual compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required;
  • 7–10 years of IT leadership experience in hospitality, resort, or luxury property management environments.
  • Expertise in network architecture, system administration, and property-level technology systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, Infor, Cisco, HP Aruba).
  • Proven success managing IT teams and large-scale technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic management responsibilities.
  • Project management certification (PMP) or ITIL certification preferred.
  • Must maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion in all aspects of operations.
