The Overnight Security Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and tactical direction to the security team during overnight hours. This role ensures the safety of guests, staff, property, and assets, enforces hotel policies, responds to incidents, and maintains high standards of customer service consistent with Town & Country Resort’s brand of hospitality. Supervise, coach, and mentor overnight security officers and staff.
Create and manage shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and adherence to staffing guidelines.
Conduct nightly briefings, debriefings, and handovers.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct disciplinary or corrective actions when necessary.
Oversee all property patrols—interior, exterior, parking garages, back-of-house zones.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and critical incidents (medical, fire, theft, disturbances).
Lead incident investigations, document findings, and prepare reports for leadership.
Coordinate and liaise with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services when required.
Maintain chain of custody for evidence, manage security-related documentation, and maintain logs (shift logs, incident reports, property damage, etc.).
Ensure that security operations are guest-focused, maintaining a visible and approachable presence.
Assist front desk, engineering, housekeeping, or other departments during overnight disruptions or emergencies.
Investigate guest complaints related to safety or disturbances and follow through to resolution.
Supervise and monitor CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other security technology.
Ensure all equipment is functioning; coordinate with IT or external vendors for repairs.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment, cameras, lighting, and other safety features.
Uphold hotel’s security policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Lead training and onboarding of security personnel (orientation, drills, emergency procedures).
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding safety, security, and labor laws.
Stay current on industry best practices, threat prevention, and loss-prevention trends.
Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing incidents, trends, security vulnerabilities, and corrective actions.
Present findings, recommendations, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
Analyze patterns (e.g. frequent incidents in certain zones) and recommend process or infrastructure improvements.
Previous hotel or resort experience preferred (especially in a similar supervision role).
Minimum of 5 years of security operations experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of security and surveillance systems, emergency response, and incident investigation.
Excellent judgment, decision-making ability under pressure, and strong situational awareness.
Leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
Exceptional communication skills—verbal and written.
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Certification(s) desirable (CPTED, OSHA, first aid/CPR, etc.).
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 8 hours or more per shift.
Ability to climb stairs, ramps, and ladders, and navigate all areas of the resort property, including guest floors, back-of-house areas, and parking structures.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, including running short distances or assisting guests or team members in distress.
Must have full range of motion to operate radio communication equipment and perform safety inspections.
Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to monitor surveillance systems, detect unusual activity, and communicate clearly via radio and in person.
Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, and remain alert and responsive during quiet overnight hours.
May be exposed to varying weather conditions during exterior patrols or emergency response activities.
