At Sunriver Resort, our Homes Maintenance Technicians play a key role in keeping our vacation homes safe, comfortable, and looking their best for every guest visit. Sunriver Resort is hiring for a full-time, year-round Maintenace Tech to join our team! The Private Homes Maintenance Technician will perform service, maintenance and repair to properties under rental management contracts with Sunriver Resort.  He/She/They will assist guests and owners with minor repairs and offer temporary solutions until any major repairs can be completed. They will assist in preparing homes and condos for guest arrival by providing property maintenance and hot tub services.

Responsibilities

  • Makes minor electrical repairs and will occasionally replace fixtures
  • Will make minor repairs to furniture and other mill work using standard woodworking tools
  • Stains and paints wood work and furniture
  • Will perform minor drywall repairs
  • Provides painting and staining as needed
  • Caulks fixtures as needed
  • Will be responsible for spring and fall maintenance such as filter changes, battery replacement, and removal/replacement of exterior patio furniture, vent blocks, and hose bib covers.
  • Performs quality control checks on hot tubs within our vacation rental inventory; including but not limited to: chemical checks, adding chemicals, basic maintenance and repairs, occasional drain and fills, cleaning interior and exterior of vessel as well as surrounding area to include snow removal from covers and around hot tub, and replacement of spa filters
  • Will report any hot tub issues immediately to manager/supervisor
  • Will occasionally pick up and deliver bikes needing repairs to bike shop
  • Will occasionally have to move/remove interior furniture
  • Will change light bulbs and batteries as necessary
  • Will repair or replace garbage disposal units
  • Will repair or replace faucet valves and other plumbing equipment
  • Unplugs toilets, garbage disposals, and drain lines 
  • Makes minor repairs to barbeques and will exchange propane tanks
  • Replaces damaged window screens
  • Provides inspection and minor repair to appliances and will occasionally remove or install
  • Makes minor repairs to shower and closet doors. 
  • Changes out TV’s, media players, and other electronics
  • Provides minor window blind/shade repairs
  • Will repair and install locks, knobs, and hardware
  • Repairs general resort equipment
  • Will use equipment and cleaning agents to clean walks and other facilities surfaces
  • Keeps accurate and legible records of all services and completes all required paper work
  • Communicates to owners, guests, front desk, housekeeping, property management, and outside vendors on procedures, time appraisal’s, and all pertinent information for repairs needed. Will follow up on repairs as needed.
  • Complies with all Sunriver Resort employment policies
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety concerns/incidents to manager/supervisor and works in a safe manner
  • Helps maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standards.
  • Will occasionally assist housekeeping; including but not limited to: lock ups, stripping and stocking, bed making, and basic cleaning.
  • Will assist with annual deep clean preparation to include but not limited to moving washers and dryers, moving refrigerators and cleaning the coils, and setting off bug bombs
  • Will occasionally be responsible for delivery of requested guest items and trash removal
  • Will occasionally deliver loaner items to include but not limited to refrigerators, microwaves, and BBQ’s
  • Provides prompt response to all service calls/electronic workorders
  • Keeps department vehicles stocked and orderly at all times
  • Will complete daily vehicle logs and follow all safety protocols

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience performing a variety of maintenance activities
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers and painter’s tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • One year of customer service experience required
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and meet company driving standards
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and an “on call” rotation. Schedules can and do change based on business levels.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally 
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 35lbs unassisted and occasionally lift up to 50lbs or more with assistance
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work and walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat, cold)
  • Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat, cold)
