Overview

You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience at Town & Country Resort. You will be responsible for processing all linens and terry (bed sheets, towels, table linens, etc.), ensuring timely delivery and pick-up across guest rooms, back-of-house outlets, F&B, and banquet/event spaces. This is a physically active position requiring strength, stamina, attention to detail, and a “team-first” mindset in a resort‐scale environment. This position requires you to have open availability. Start time could be 7 AM and End time 8 PM. Pay Rate $19.85 #towncountrySD

Responsibilities

  • Sort, pre-treat, wash, dry, press, fold, package and distribute linens and terry per resort standards.

  • Receive soiled linen and terry from guest rooms, outlets, banquet and event spaces; inspect for stains, damage and defects; record for repair or discard.

  • Operate industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, presses, folders) and ensure proper settings and cycles for different loads.

  • Maintain linen inventory, track usage, monitor par levels and coordinate with Housekeeping or Purchasing for replenishment.

  • Load/unload laundry machines, move carts of soiled and clean linen throughout laundry and storage areas.

  • Deliver clean linen to outlets (guest rooms, restaurants, banquets/events) and collect soiled items in designated areas; ensure timely service to support operations.

  • Maintain the laundry area—keeping workstations, storage spaces, carts, chutes, and equipment clean, organized, and functional.

  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and resort controls (including PPE usage, chemical labels, housekeeping/laundry guidelines).

  • Report machine malfunctions, linen shortages, safety hazards or other issues to Laundry Supervisor or Engineering/Housekeeping leadership.

  • Assist with special requests, heavy events or peak periods (e.g., banquet linen resets, high guest-room turnover days).

  • Support the resort’s guest-service culture—ensuring that all activities indirectly contribute to a great guest experience (e.g., timely output, correct linens, minimal delays).

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, resort or high-volume laundry setting preferred but not required; training may be provided.

  • Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment and work in a fast‐paced, high‐volume environment.

  • Strong team orientation, reliability, and flexibility (including ability to work weekends, early mornings, late shifts, or peak times depending on hotel occupancy and events).

  • Basic reading/writing skills in English (for labels, instructions, safety data sheets, etc.). Bilingual skills a plus.

  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures for sorting, folding and distribution.

  • Physical stamina and strength to meet the demands of the job (see physical requirements below).

  • Commitment to safety, cleanliness and the resort’s standards of appearance and guest service.


Physical Requirements

This role is very physically demanding and candidates must be able to meet the following physical requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (often entire shifts of 8+ hours) while performing duties.

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of loads (linen bags, carts, bundles of towels, etc.). Loads may weigh up to 50 lbs or more on occasion. (Industry examples include lifting bundles up to 70 lbs.

  • Ability to push/pull laundry carts or trolleys which may weigh significant amounts when fully loaded.

  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching to load/unload machines, sort linen, or reorganize storage racks.

  • Must be able to climb stairs or ramps when moving linen between floors or storage areas as required.

  • Manual dexterity required to handle linens, operate controls on machines, fold/stack efficiently.

  • Good vision, hearing and communication ability to monitor equipment, read instructions and coordinate with team members.

  • Must be able to work in varying work environment conditions, including heat from dryers, humidity in the laundry area, noise from machinery, and possibly chemical exposure during pre-treating of linens.

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including shifts, weekends, holidays as required by hotel operations and high‐occupancy or event periods.
