Overview

As the Director of Community Events at Suncadia, you will lead the strategic vision, planning, and execution of all community-facing events across the property. This role is central to enhancing the experience of owners, club members, resort guests, media, and the surrounding community through dynamic, inclusive, and brand-aligned programming.

 

You will own the full lifecycle of Suncadia’s event portfolio, including the Suncadia Social Grand Opening in Spring 2026, and will oversee the ongoing programming and rental management of The Green at Suncadia Social, ensuring it becomes a vibrant hub for group gatherings, cultural experiences, and community connection.

You will also manage and mentor the Community Events Coordinator, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development to ensure seamless execution of all events and initiatives.

 

You will collaborate across departments, Real Estate, Hospitality, Clubs, HOA, and our community grant partners (Suncadia Fund for Community Enhancement and Kittitas County Lodging Tax Committee), to deliver an event program that supports business objectives while celebrating the spirit of Suncadia.

 

Annual Salary: $100,000.00 + incentive eligibility

Responsibilities

  • Event Leadership and Strategic Planning
    • Lead the development and execution of Suncadia’s annual event calendar, including signature festivals, seasonal celebrations, and cultural activations
    • Spearhead the Suncadia Social Grand Opening and establish ongoing programming that reflects community interests and brand values
    • Manage the rental program for The Green at Suncadia Social, coordinating group bookings and ensuring seamless guest experiences
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and mentor the Community Events Coordinator, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and professional growth opportunities
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with Suncadia’s values
  • Budget and Resource Management
    • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals
    • Negotiate vendor contracts and secure sponsorships to support event funding and growth
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to secure financial support from SFCE, LTAC, and other sources
  • Logistics and Operations
    • Oversee all operational aspects of events including venue coordination, permitting, transportation, staffing, and equipment
    • Ensure smooth execution through cross-functional collaboration and vendor management
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Programming and Talent Curation
    • Curate engaging, diverse event experiences tailored to Suncadia’s audiences
    • Research trends and introduce innovative concepts to evolve programming
    • Source and manage performers, speakers, and entertainment aligned with event themes
  • Marketing and Promotion
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop integrated promotional campaigns
    • Leverage digital, print, and community channels to drive attendance and engagement
  • Guest Experience and Feedback
    • Prioritize exceptional guest experiences through thoughtful design and execution
    • Implement feedback loops to continuously refine and improve event offerings
  • Risk and Safety Management
    • Identify potential risks and implement safety protocols to protect attendees and staff
  • Post-Event Analysis
    • Conduct post-event evaluations and generate performance reports to inform future planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license
  • Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale events and festivals, preferably in a resort or hospitality setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and permitting processes for events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must develop a complete working knowledge of Suncadia, including all its attractions and amenities.
  • Must manage and lead large scale projects and teams of employees/volunteer/contractors.
  • Must be able to see a project from beginning stages through to fruition.
  • Must have strong negotiation and contracting skills.
