Job Summary

Cornerstone Golf Club is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong irrigation maintenance experience, as well as Chemical/Fertilizer application experience.  With the help of many valuable resources at their discretion, the right candidate for this position will be an independent starter but capable of leading small labor forces on irrigation projects at times.  Rainbird experience is preferred but not required. Electrical troubleshooting with Rainbird components is also a benefit.  The selected individual must be hands-on, and detail oriented in all maintenance and repairs. If not involved in irrigation maintenance, this individual will be utilized in chemical and fertilizer applications, as well as staff supervision. Our equipment fleet features Toro spray equipment with GeoLink technology.  This position will give the proper candidate the background to become a successful Superintendent in the private golf market. Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible to Director and Superintendent.
  • Perform chem/fert applications with Toro Geo Link System
  • Assist in inventory monitoring/maintenance.
  • Assist in nightly scheduling of Rainbird Cirrus Central Control.
  • Perform daily maintenance, including leak repair, of all in ground system plumbing.
  • Perform daily adjustments and system checks of Rainbird heads.
  • Responsible for daily service, maintenance of 2 pump stations.
  • Responsible for daily monitoring, operation of transfer pump to secure water levels.
  • Perform accurate daily irrigation, transfer logs.
  • Regularly supervises small labor force special projects. 
  • Work closely with Crew Foreman in daily operations.
  • Responsible for all spring time start up and winter blow out of system with staff assistance.
  • Responsible for all non golf course irrigation, including clubhouse and cabin landscapes.
  • Maintains inventory levels for all irrigation hardware.
  • Perform snow removal and winter recreation maintenance.
  • Smile and greet every guest especially when they’re in proximity.
  • Provide quick and efficient service.
  • Remember guest names and use them often in interactions.
  • Offer assistance and provide options to guests.
  • Emphasize creating a positive guest experience and building lasting connections by thanking guests and inviting them back.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance, irrigation operations, or turf management.
  • Hands-on experience with Rain Bird Cirrus and/or Toro Geo Link Systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience performing chemical and fertilizer applications.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience over small crews or project teams.
  • Snow removal and winter operations experience highly desired.
  • Strong working knowledge of golf course irrigation systems, including troubleshooting, leak repair, and pump station operations.
  • Understanding of turf nutrition, fertilization schedules, and seasonal turf care practices.
