Magnolia Hotels is seeking an ambitious and driven Assistant Director of Finance to oversee the financial heartbeat of our iconic properties in St. Louis and Omaha. This is not your typical back-office role — this is your chance to make a real impact across two vibrant markets, support dynamic hotel teams, and play a key part in shaping the financial future of our brand.

If you’re energized by numbers, passionate about hospitality, and thrive in a leadership role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities, we want to meet you.

This position supervises and directs the financial activities, safeguards the assets, and prepares all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role adds value and will serve as a financial advisor to Management and Ownership.

  • Lead ongoing forecasting processes, partnering with department heads to ensure accuracy and operational alignment.

  • Analyze business trends, variances, and financial performance to provide actionable insights.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain effective internal control systems across both locations, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Support audits, including internal, external, and tax audits; ensure timely responses and corrective actions.

  • Monitor adherence to GAAP and hospitality financial best practices.

Cash Management & Receivables/Payables

  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll review, and cash handling procedures.

  • Ensure proper coding, documentation, and processing of financial transactions.

  • Review credit applications, billing, and collections to minimize financial risk.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Provide guidance and support to property-level accounting teams.

  • Partner with General Managers, Operations, Sales, and other department heads to drive financial accountability.

  • Serve as acting Director of Finance during absences when needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
