Overview

This position is responsible for producing a wide range of baked goods. With a focus on quality and production levels, this position will assist the culinary team with their mission to exceed customers’ expectations related to food quality and dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Bake pastry items as assigned as well as have the ability to produce all items which the Baker is responsible for.
  • Provides planning and direction for the pastry team to fulfill requisitions and orders in a timely manner.
  • Assists Chef with special requests.
  • Must be able to read recipes and follow measurement instructions accurately.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all team members.
  • Consistently practice safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
  • Maintain workstation and equipment safety and cleanliness.
  • Inventory items as assigned and maintain records as needed.

Qualifications

  • Able to work flexible hours and days.
  • Two years of related experience required.
  • Knowledge of pastry and baking products.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, food products, and food service equipment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, proper food handling techniques, temperatures, and food safety.
  • Food Handler Card Required
  • Previous experience maintaining professional and respectful work relationships.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk, stand, and sit 6-8 hours per day and may have exposure to basic office supply chemicals.
  • The team member is occasionally required to climb and use balance. Additionally, they will frequently be asked to use their hands and arms to reach, carry, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. 
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member will experience temperature fluctuations (rain, wind, heat, humidity), and moderate to high noise levels.
