Job Summary

The Golf Course Equipment Manager is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment used in golf course maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards at a mountain golf course.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all golf course equipment, including Toro mowers, Kubota Tractors,Polaris Rangers, department trucks, and winter snow removal equipment.
  • Repair and Diagnostics: Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment issues, including diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered machinery. This includes troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory. This includes tracking costs and managing budgets for equipment maintenance.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with the golf course superintendent and maintenance staff regarding equipment needs, repairs, and safety protocols.
  • Training: Educate and train staff on the proper operation and care of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency on the course.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all equipment is operated in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, prioritizing safety in all maintenance activities.
  • Smile and greet every guest especially when they’re in proximity.
  • Provide quick and efficient service.
  • Remember guest names and use them often in interactions.
  • Offer assistance and provide options to guests.
  • Emphasize creating a positive guest experience and building lasting connections by thanking guests and inviting them back.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 Years of previous experience in golf course maintenance or equipment management is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment and repair tools, as well as the ability diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address unexpected equipment issues and perform repairs efficiently to minimize disruption to course maintenance.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management.

Working Conditions
The role may require flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the golf course's operational needs. The equipment manager will work both indoors in a shop environment and outdoors on the golf course.
