The Recreation Manager is an enthusiastic leader who is responsible for overseeing our commendable recreation team and program, offering beach and pool activities to our homeowners and guests while adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols. This position works cohesively with property department leaders to identify and positively affect improvements in programs and procedures. This role will interact in both one-on-one and group settings, lead teams, and create unforgettable moments for our guests and homeowners.

Yearly Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000

Responsibilities

  • The Recreation Manager is responsible for guest and homeowner satisfaction of beach & pool activities
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with homeowners and guests
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the recreation team with high service standards while fostering connections and growth
  • Embrace opportunities for improvement to drive ideal outcomes and maintain accountability
  • Develop new programs and procedures and train employees in accordance with company standards
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members for continuous improvement
  • Communicate business objectives, standards, and expectations to the team through department staff meetings
  • Conduct interviews and support HR with department hiring needs
  • Celebrate good performance and achievements by driving team member recognition
  • Maintain the department's operating expenses and inventory
  • Oversee beach & pool operations ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming environments
  • Maintain daily activities for all guests to enjoy and create engaging family friendly events/gatherings
  • Communicate all department updates and challenges to the Director of Resort Operations

Qualifications

  • A degree in related field, or 3 years of recreation or hotel/vacation rental experience with 2 years in supervisory/managerial capacity preferred
  • Certification within first 90 days in First Aid and CPR
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft applications-Outlook, Word, and Excel with ability to create and organize electronic documents and files
  • A high-level of skills in the areas of diplomacy, problem solving, and relationship building
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop rapport and connect with team members, guests, homeowners, and vendors
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage projects and establish priorities with diverse timelines and responsibilities
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrates good and consistent judgment in making business decisions
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have valid Hawaii Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
