Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Director of Restaurants & Bars to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. Responsibilities

  • Ensure our guests receive the highest level of food quality and service experience in alignment with the positioning of each restaurant and bar including seasonal outlets and in room dining.
  • Lead the staffing, training, and day-to-day activities of the front of house operations and seamless collaboration with the supporting culinary departments.
  • Develop and manage an annual budget and forecasts through diligent monitoring of labor controls and operating expenses, and by developing relationships with key suppliers and industry partners.
  • Monitor the department’s actual and projected sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded and opportunities are identified and addressed.
  • Establish and sustain a culture rooted in exceptional service and distinctive guest experiences. Set the expectations and hold food & beverage leadership team accountable for training and inspiring desired service behaviors.
  • Work with food and beverage leadership team to determine areas of concern and develop strategies to improve the department’s financial performance. Establish challenging, realistic, and obtainable goals to guide operation and performance. Strive to improve service performance.
  • Ensure regular, on-going communication occurs in all areas of the restaurants and bars internally and across all departments. (e.g., pre-meal briefings, staff meetings, culinary team, strategic operations team).
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and entire food & beverage team. Ensure direct reports do the same for their team.
  • Work in close partnership with marketing and revenue management to develop compelling POS offers, promotions and marketing campaigns to increase demand and revenue generation.
  • Ensure the guest journey throughout food and beverage is executed in alignment with the brand pillars and positioning of the property and guest satisfaction goals.
  • Ensure cash controls and compliance with liquor licensing laws, health regulations, safety, labor laws and operational policies.
  • Inspire a culture and passion for working hard, having fun, delivering genuine hospitality and creating memorable culinary experiences for guest’s worth sharing.
  • Stay aware of market trends and introduce new food and beverage products to meet or exceed customer expectations, generate increased revenue and ensure a competitive position in the market.

Qualifications

  • Experienced with ten years or more in food and beverage management and/or supervision of team members in the hotel, restaurant, bar and/or events industry.
  • Experienced with five or more years in leadership roles within Food & Beverage preferably in an upscale/luxury resort environment.
  • Experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher is highly desired.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession. This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or complex problems and food and beverage management (front and back of the house).
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of professionals.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and be willing to accept assignments on as need basis, to promote teamwork. This may include some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000/yr. (+ bonus)
