Overview

This is a temporary, full-time position. The Public Spaces Supervisor is responsible for providing direct leadership and guidance to Public Space Attendants to ensure the standards of cleanliness of the resort are achieved and maintained on a consistent basis to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction in cleanliness and service. The Public Spaces Supervisor must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standards. S/he will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects work for quality control
  • Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of public space team
  • Provides overall leadership to the public space team
  • Conducts staff meetings as necessary
  • Performs custodial services as needed
  • Responsible for the proper training and orientation of public space attendants
  • Gives effective feedback to public spaces attendants to aid on their development
  • Maintains a safe and pleasant work environment
  • Ensures public space vehicles are in proper working condition and reports any repair needs
  • Demonstrates working knowledge and understanding of custodial chemicals, supplies, and equipment and their proper storage, distribution and use
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of custodial equipment
  • Responsible for stocking, ordering, receiving and safety labeling of supplies under the MSDS procedures
  • Ensures service standards are being applied by all team members
  • Ensures supplies are properly stocked, orders supplies when necessary
  • Promotes high associate morale
  • Monitors associate’s time in UKG, working with the Lodge Administrative assistant to ensure accurate payroll
  • Coaches and counsels public spaces team as needed
  • Recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate of team members
  • Works with director and HR to recruit and hire staff
  • Ensures all service calls are attended to
  • Utilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs
  • Instills a calm, organized approach in all stressful situations
  • Maintains strong knowledge of safety and trains team accordingly
  • Assists the Director of Rooms with monitoring expenses and labor
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
  • Assures guest service standards are being applied by all public space attendants
  • Maintains a strong morale and spirit throughout team
  • Responsible for the achievement of department goals and objectives
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons).
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied spaces. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least six months custodial experience required
  • At least one year supervisory experience required
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred

 

JOB REQUIRMENTS:

  • Must have valid Oregon Driver’s License and meet company driving standards
  • Must have excellent leadership skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day, with intermittent periods of stair climbing;
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 10 lbs,  and occasionally up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently;  kneel or crawl occasionally ; infrequently climb a ladder
