Do you enjoy working outdoors and getting your hands dirty? Hay Creek Garden, Suncadia’s working kitchen garden, is seeking a hardworking, dependable team member to assist with daily farm operations. This is a physically active position focused on crop production, soil preparation, equipment operation, and material hauling in support of our resort restaurants and guest programming. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical labor, operating equipment, and working in all weather conditions.

Salary: $19.00/hour

Guaranteed work through the end of November, possibly longer.
Applicants must be willing to commit through the end of November.

This is a Seasonal position with targeted start and end dates:

• Season Start: April 2026
• Season End: November 2026

Hours will fluctuate as business levels rise and fall throughout the season. Peak season, with the most hours, is typically May – October.

This role centers on hands-on farm labor and garden production, including:

• Tractor operation and hauling soil, compost, wood chips, and other materials
• Bed preparation and soil management
• Irrigation installation and repair
• Planting, cultivating, harvesting, and delivering produce
• General property and grounds maintenance

Farm & Physical Labor

• Prepare soil and planting beds for vegetables and flowers
• Operate tractors and utility vehicles for hauling materials
• Move and spread compost, soil, mulch, and wood chips
• Dig, trench, and repair irrigation lines
• Perform regular weeding and cultivation
• Assist with heavy seasonal tasks including bed turnover and cleanup
• Load and deliver harvested produce to resort kitchens
• Maintain tools and equipment; ensure proper storage and upkeep

Crop Production

• Plant, transplant, water, fertilize, and harvest crops
• Deadhead flowers and prune shrubs as needed
• Monitor crop health and assist with pest and soil management
• Maintain a clean and productive growing environment

Guest & Community Interaction

• Provide occasional garden tours and answer guest questions
• Assist with community garden and educational activities
• Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid Washington State driver’s license
• Previous professional gardening or farm experience preferred
• Experience operating small power tools and basic equipment
• Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
• Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, dig, and work on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Basic plant knowledge (identification, soil fundamentals, seed saving knowledge preferred)
• Ability to take direction and work independently
• Self-motivated and able to identify tasks without supervision
• Sufficient English skills to communicate and follow instructions
