Job Summary

The Massage Therapist – Part-Time is responsible for delivering customized massage and body treatments that meet Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium service expectations and align with Forbes Five-Star standards.

This role requires a highly skilled, guest-focused professional who delivers consistent, personalized treatments while ensuring comfort, privacy, and overall wellness. The Massage Therapist plays a critical role in creating a seamless, elevated spa experience from guest arrival through post-treatment engagement.

Job Specifications

Onsite: Black Desert Resort – Plume Spa
Shift & Schedule Availability: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $10/Hr + Commission + Service Charges. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors. With total compensation estimated to average out to be around $70-$80/hr. (This number includes the average service charge.)

Key Responsibilities including but not limited to

• Perform professional massage and body treatments in accordance with resort and Forbes standards.
• Customize treatments based on guest needs, preferences, and wellness goals.
• Conduct thorough consultations, including medical considerations and desired outcomes prior to treatment.
• Clearly and confidently explain treatments and benefits in a professional, approachable manner.
• Ensure all treatments begin and end on time, maintaining seamless service flow.
• Maintain guest privacy, comfort, and discretion at all times.
• Create a calm, quiet, and relaxing environment throughout the treatment experience.
• Use consistent, high-level techniques that deliver the intended results of each service.
• Provide thoughtful recommendations for continued wellness without being overly promotional.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of treatment rooms and equipment.
• Ensure all linens, tools, and products are maintained at the highest level of presentation and hygiene.
• Escort guests to and from treatment areas, providing a seamless and personalized experience.
• Communicate effectively with spa and resort teams to ensure continuity of guest experience.
• Maintain accurate treatment notes and guest preferences within spa systems.
• Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium hospitality and Plume Spa standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid Utah Massage Therapy License (required)
• Prior experience in a Forbes 5 Star Spa preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in a luxury spa or resort environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of multiple massage modalities
• Excellent communication and guest service skills
• Ability to personalize treatments and build guest relationships
• Strong understanding of wellness principles and guest care
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
