Overview

The primary scope of the Bakery Café Attendant position is to provide an extraordinary guest experience, in a high volume “take out” Bakery Café.  By providing quality products and exceptional service to hotel, office, and transient guests while creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.  This position reports to the Food & Beverage leadership.

 

Schedule Requirements

The position includes morning and afternoon/evening shifts with regular weekend attendance. Holidays are scheduled as business requires.

 

Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality, flexibility is required to meet business needs. Participation in “all hands” events may be necessary.

 

The hotel operates 24/7, including holidays. The company strives to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Proving exceptional customer service to our guest in a timely manner
  • Ability to emotionally connect with guests, greet them by name and anticipate their needs
  • Smile
  • Handle cash transactions according to Seaport’s Cash Handling policy.
  • Attention to detail when merchandising café products and offerings
  • Perform as a team and be a positive role model
  • Always ensure product freshness and quality
  • Ability to restock storerooms neatly while rotating products to ensure freshness
  • Keep all work areas clean and sanitary
  • Assist in food preparation as needed
  • Set-up and closing Bakery Café according to café standard practice
  • Complete assigned side-work check list in a timely manner
  • Complete all cleaning checklists in timely manner
  • Ensure that all orders are processed within a timely manner
  • Assist in the training of new team members
  • Always maintain Department of Health standards for food handling
  • Responsible for practicing, managing, and promoting our Mission and Values so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.
  • Completes any duties or projects assigned by the Management.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds preferred
  • Experience with high volume “counter” food service

Education:

  • High School diploma, general education degree or international equivalent preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency of the English language is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and compose instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
