Overview

Scope of Position

The Director of Revenue Management is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and plays a critical role in driving revenue performance and profitability for Seaport Hotel.

 

This leader is responsible for developing and executing strategic pricing and inventory management initiatives across all distribution channels. Working closely with Commercial, Operations, and Finance teams, the Director will provide data-driven insights, lead revenue strategy discussions, and ensure optimal yield performance in a competitive, dynamic market.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Pricing & Analytics

  • Develop and execute demand-based pricing strategies across all room categories and channels to maximize revenue.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to identify growth opportunities.
  • Use forecasting tools (e.g., IDeaS, Lighthouse, Demand360, CoStar, ProfitSword) to inform pricing decisions and adjust tactics based on performance.
  • Lead weekly revenue strategy meetings and ensure alignment across commercial teams.
  • Conduct regular pricing reviews to maintain competitiveness and profitability across hotel and rental products.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting; provide insights and recommendations to leadership.

Group Optimization

  • Partner with sales to optimize group pricing, inventory, and block management (forecasting, yielding, release strategy).
  • Evaluate group business based on total revenue contribution, including rooms, space, and ancillary spend.

Electronic Distribution

  • Manage and optimize distribution strategy across OTA, GDS, wholesale, and direct channels.
  • Ensure accurate rate and inventory loading across all platforms.
  • Identify new distribution opportunities aligned with brand and growth goals.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on SEO, digital advertising, and online visibility strategies.
  • Work with partners to drive performance in both high- and low-demand periods.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Oversee core reporting, including pickup, pace, segmentation, and channel performance.
  • Lead strategy discussions for short- and long-term (12–18 months) planning.
  • Support annual budgeting with detailed, segment-level forecasts.
  • Partner with departments to track and achieve ancillary revenue goals.

Leadership

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Executive Team on revenue performance and opportunities.
  • Communicate insights clearly and influence cross-functional decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, corporate partners, and distribution stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration across all commercial disciplines to drive results.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of revenue management experience in the hotel industry
  • At least 2 years managing a group-heavy hotel (35%+ group mix)
  • Experience in urban markets preferred (Boston strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with systems such as:
    • HMS Infor
    • Sabre SynXis
    • IDeaS, Lighthouse, Demand360, CoStar
  • Prior reservations management experience preferred

 

Education:

  • High School diploma, general education degree equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Language Skills:

  • Fluency of the English language is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and compose instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
