We’re looking for a Director of Sales who can sell sunshine, sell San Diego, sell 671 rooms, and somehow keep all of us organized while doing it.
Town and Country Resort is looking for a Director of Sales to lead the charge in driving revenue, developing strategic accounts, winning group business, and keeping our competitors wondering how we keep getting the good stuff.
This is not a “sit in an office and wait for the phone to ring” kind of job. We need a relationship-builder, deal-maker, coach, strategist, and professional opportunity-spotter who knows that a great sales team does not just sell rooms—it sells experiences, meetings, memories, and reasons to come back.
Relationship Builder: You remember the client’s name, their last event, and probably what they ordered for lunch.
Closer: You know the difference between “let me think about it” and “send me the contract.”
Coach: Your team gets better because you are their leader.
Strategist: You know when to chase the business, when to walk away, and when to change the game entirely.
Commercially Savvy: You understand that occupancy is nice, but profitable business is nicer.
Calm Under Pressure: Because hotel sales occasionally involves moving mountains before Tuesday.
Because this is not your average hotel.
Town and Country Resort is a 671-room convention resort in the heart of San Diego, with extensive meeting and event space, multiple restaurants and bars, pools, and plenty of personality. We are a historic San Diego property with a modern attitude—and we are not interested in being forgettable.
You’ll have the opportunity to sell a property that offers clients something genuinely compelling: space, location, experiences, and a resort atmosphere without leaving San Diego.
And yes, there will be days when you will wonder why anyone ever decided a hotel should have this many moving parts.
That’s part of the fun.
This position requires the ability to:
The Bottom Line:
If you are a strategic sales leader who loves winning business, developing people, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced resort environment—and you are not afraid of a little friendly competition—we should talk.
Bring your Rolodex. Bring your strategy. Bring your personality.
We’ll bring the palm trees.
