Job Overview 

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving group room and event revenue for Aloft Orlando Lake Nona, with a primary focus on actively soliciting, closing, and managing group business. This role is a producer and relationship builder, responsible for generating new business, converting leads, and delivering distinctively different guest experiences while maximizing hotel revenue and market share. You will play a critical role in positioning Aloft and Althea as a go-to destination for group and event business in Lake Nona.

 

Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Actively solicit and secure new group business through prospecting, outbound sales efforts, and relationship development
  • Manage and respond to inbound inquiries, converting leads into definite business
  • Achieve and exceed assigned group room night and revenue goals
  • Identify new market segments aligned with Aloft’s positioning and demand drivers

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, planners, and key partners
  • Understand client needs and design tailored solutions utilizing guestrooms, Althea event space, and hotel amenities
  • Deliver a high-touch, responsive sales experience that creates loyalty and repeat business

Market & Strategic Positioning

  • Understand local market dynamics including USTA, Medical City, and Lake Nona demand drivers
  • Analyze competitor positioning, pricing, and trends to strategically sell against the comp set
  • Position Aloft as a distinctively different, lifestyle-driven group experience

Sales Process & Execution

  • Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and pricing strategies aligned with revenue goals
  • Negotiate contracts to maximize profitability while maintaining competitiveness
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and reporting within Delphi/SFA systems
  • Collaborate with operations and group services teams to ensure seamless execution of booked business

Team & Culture Contribution

  • Partner with internal teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences
  • Communicate proactively across departments to ensure alignment and execution
  • Contribute to a high-energy, collaborative, and performance-driven sales culture

Qualifications

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality, Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration

    Experience

    • Minimum 2–3+ years in hotel group sales or related role
    • Proven track record of closing business and achieving/exceeding sales goals
    • Experience selling group rooms and event space preferred

    Core Competencies

    • Proven closer with strong negotiation skills
    • Highly motivated, proactive, and results-driven
    • Strong understanding of hotel operations and group sales process
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

    Technical Skills

    • Experience with Delphi, CI/TY, or similar sales systems preferred
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools

Working Environment & Physical Demands:

  • The role requires regularly walking, standing, and sitting for 6-8 hours per day and may involve exposure to standard office supply chemicals.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to reach, carry, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Work environment may involve temperature fluctuations and moderate to high noise levels.
