Amaterra Kitchen & Social Club is seeking an energetic, hospitality-driven Bartender to join our team. The Bartender is responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences through knowledgeable beverage service, craft cocktail preparation, wine service, and genuine hospitality. This role plays a key part in maintaining the welcoming and upscale atmosphere of our restaurant, wine tasting room, and social club while ensuring efficient bar operations and adherence to all service standards.

Responsibilities

Guest Service

  • Provide warm, professional, and engaging service to all guests.
  • Create memorable guest experiences through personalized recommendations and attentive service.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and members while maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests, concerns, and special accommodations.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food menus, beverage offerings, wines, beers, and specialty cocktails.

 

Beverage Preparation & Service

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Execute craft cocktails with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Recommend wines, cocktails, and beverage pairings to complement menu selections.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and verify guest age in accordance with Oregon liquor laws.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and address service concerns professionally and appropriately.

 

Bar Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service.
  • Prepare garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar ingredients as needed.
  • Participate in opening, closing, and side work duties.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating beverage inventory.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all products.

 

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and management to deliver seamless guest experiences.
  • Support fellow team members during busy service periods.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, training sessions, and ongoing education programs.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of bartending experience in an upscale restaurant, wine bar, hotel, or similar hospitality environment preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid OLCC Service Permit and Oregon Food Handler Card.
