Overview

A Barista is responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience by preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café offerings. This role requires exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.

 

Responsibilities

 
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and providing recommendations as needed.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, process transactions accurately, and handle cash and credit card payments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked work area, including beverage stations, display cases, and seating areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking products, supplies, and ingredients.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of pastries, grab-and-go items, and other café offerings.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations and outstanding guest satisfaction.
  • Address guest questions and concerns professionally, resolving issues in a timely manner.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous barista, food and beverage, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
