Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst is integral to the success of the Hotel's Sales, Revenue, & Marketing strategy. The position will be responsible for the preparation & analysis of business intelligence reports that will assist in implementing the hotel’s sales strategies. In addition, this position’s responsibilities will include assisting the sales function by producing, analyzing, and assisting in the maintenance, organization, and distribution of business intelligence data.

Responsibilities

Analysis, Reporting, and Strategy

  • Lead analyst for all sources of business including Group, Leisure, Catering and Destination Services.
  • Review all tentative and definite group bookings to ensure they support the implemented strategies.
  • Assists with Rate, Promotion and Package loading, and relevant distribution to operating departments
  • Understand the group evaluation process to assist in providing meaningful analytics in relation to the sales process, based on key factors such as rooms/space ratio, pattern, ancillary contribution, etc. 
  • Conducts displacement analysis of group business as needed to determine the impact potential business will have on RevPAR.
  • Perform audits of media placements and report on all ROI of promotional initiatives
  • Collate reports such as, STAR, Hotel Intelligence, Demand360 and other measurement tools and present revenue opportunities.
  • Accurate preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly revenue & sales production reports. The reports include market segmentation analysis, production reports, rate audits, pace reports, source contribution analysis, daily pick-up reports, revenue penetration index, KPS’s, etc.
  • Coordinate competitive pricing checks, including packages and promotions
  • Prepare sales, catering, conference services incentive schedules in a timely manner and maintain confidentiality of information

 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Perform audits and maintenance on all systems such as PMS, CRS, RMS, BI, and Sales & Catering Systems to ensure content and information is correct.
  • Understand the resort’s defined competitive market and defined comp sets and their relevance to each hotel/resort based on current/future market conditions and industry changes and fluctuations.
  • Special Projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate would also possess intermediate to advance knowledge of key sales and revenue systems (Property Management Systems, Amadeus, CVENT, Synxis, Datavision, Ideas G3, and other revenue management/sales related systems).
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Hospitality and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong computer literacy including programs such as excel and generally a strong technical aptitude
  • Strong written & oral skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints and extremely detail oriented
  • Comprehensive understanding of demand evaluation and effective pricing
  • Understanding of lead generation & sales practices
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Is proactive, a self-starter, who can work well both independently and as part of a team

Experience, Education, & Licensure:

  • 1+ years of on-property hotel revenue management and e-commerce discipline focus
  • Proficiency in Excel
