Overview

For the first time since becoming the official Director of Hugs in 2006, Takoda will come to life as a lively, interactive character, engaging with guests, taking photos, participating in scavenger hunts, and and helping to create magical moments with guests of all ages.

The performer should be willing to demonstrate high energy levels, a full range of motion with their bodies, and basic coordination to music. This role requires wearing a large body costume, head, and feet, and exposure to hot weather.

 

If you are interested in this role, you must attend auditions at the Great Hall in Sunriver Resort on June 5th from 4:00pm-5:00pm or June 6th from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage guests of all ages throughout the attraction in a character role.
  • Perform and provide guest service through performance themed positions, silent gestures and character poses that engage and delight our guests in an effort to provide long-lasting memories and positive interactions.
  • Ability to be trained and crossed utilized throughout the resort
  • Ensuring that our guests remain our top priority.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and leadership
  • Ability to communicate with others, via telephone or in person, in a professional and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.
  • Ability to represent the Company effectively in a public forum through verbal, non-verbal and visual presentations; deliver guest service that enhances the reputation and image of the company.
  • Knowledge of and ability to proactively recognize and report safety issues or incidences and maintain a clean, safe work environment (e.g. customer safety, keeping work aisles clear, sanitary health practices, proper placement of tools and machinery, etc.).
  • Ability to change or adapt work practices, priorities or to reschedule activities in response to changing conditions or multiple work demands.

Qualifications

Candidates that would successfully fill this role are:

  • Able to perform both indoors and outdoors in full costume.
  • Work effectively in a hot and claustrophobic costume environment
  • Able to perform in a costume weighing approximately 50lbs for 40-45 minutes at a time
  • Able to lift and carry 50lbs without assistance
  • Must have full use of hands, fingers and wrists
  • Frequently required to walk, stand for long periods of time, balance, stoop, kneel, sit/stand repeatedly or crouch
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job to include working with limited or no vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to work within the costume and utilize video monitor and/or auditory cues from Ability to perform at a consistent level in a highly visible public (guest) arena.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (hours) days and evenings, 7 days per week that may include weekends/holidays.
  • Work within a team concept with a culturally diverse staff.
  • Experience performing in front of large crowds and evoking high energy, enthusiasm and fun
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have valid Oregon driver’s license and meet company driving standards
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to effectively work with a variety of age groups
  • Must be professional in demeanor
