The Room Preventative Maintenance Program is looking for detailed oriented individuals to join their team!  In this role, you will responsible to ensure that all guestrooms are well-maintained, safe, and meet Forbes standards of cleanliness, comfort, and functionality.  Essentially you will be inspecting and correcting luxury hotel guestrooms to ensure five star accommodations.  This role is an intricate part of the engineering team, where you and team members will detail guestrooms with light painting, plumbing, electrical work and the use of hand tools for perfection of our affluent guests.  Training will be available for forward thinking individuals who are focused on ensuring flawless stays that meet luxury guest’s expectations.  

Responsibilities

  • Inspect Rooms: Regularly inspect all rooms and facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Create Maintenance Schedule: Develop a preventive maintenance schedule for each room, outlining tasks and frequencies for inspections, cleaning, and repairs.
  • Perform Maintenance: Execute maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and minor carpentry work as needed.
  • Manage Inventory: Keep track of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, and ensure their availability for routine tasks.
  • Coordinate Contractors: Arrange and oversee the work of external contractors for specialized maintenance and repair projects.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all rooms and facilities comply with safety regulations and standards. Address safety issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including schedules, work performed, and expenses.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget planning for the maintenance program and ensure that expenditures stay within budgetary constraints.
  • Training: Train and supervise junior maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies promptly, even outside regular working hours.

 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in departmental problem solving teams

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.

Experience, Education, & Licensure:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in maintenance and repair is a plus.
  • Valid Vehicle Operators License

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $24.00/Hr
