Overview

Kaiya Beach Resort is in search of an exceptional Chef de Cuisine to play a pivotal role in the evolution of our culinary journey. Kaiya is an intimate and uncrowded beach resort in the heart of 30A Florida with villas and amenities designed by Khoury Vogt Architechts. As the foundation of our food and beverage operations, this position offers the opportunity to drive the creative culinary force behind the resort in preparation for a larger capacity once the resort grows into its full potential. The ideal candidate will be an expert in menu conceptualization, ensuring top-tier quality assurance, and setting an industry benchmark in culinary operations.

Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership: Provide visionary guidance and manage the upcoming signature restaurant with culinary research and development process from initial product conception to final implementation.

Innovation: Develop novel product offerings tailored for each level of the club and be available to participate in owner private events and special requests.  This restaurant has aspirations of garnering natural attention through wellness and culinary acumen. 

Trend Monitoring: Keep a finger on the pulse of industry trends, initiating collaborations with both internal teams and external partners to elevate our culinary offerings.

Menu Creation: Manage comprehensive menu creation, detailing dish specifications, ingredient lists, and portion sizes.

Procurement Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with purchasing teams to identify and source necessary products.

Quality Assurance: Introduce and uphold standards, processes, and tools to ensure consistent culinary excellence across the resort.

Team Guidance: Foster the growth and proficiency of the culinary team by ensuring adherence to the company’s high standards, processes, and systems.

Feedback Management: Actively monitor feedback from members, guests, and internal team members, implementing necessary changes to guarantee maximum guest satisfaction.

Quality Control: Collaborate with Food & Beverage management to instate rigorous quality assurance measures, such as audits, culinary focus groups, tastings, and surveys.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an Chef de Cuisine role.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in training and team-building initiatives.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and managing culinary departments across multiple outlets.
  • A background in 4- or 5-star establishments with the knowledge and capability to implement high standards.
  • A rich experience in successfully creating and launching new culinary concepts.
