Overview

This position is responsible for the staff supervision and production of a wide range of baked goods. With a focus on quality and production levels, the Executive Pastry Chef will lead the pastry team on their mission to exceed customers’ expectations related to food quality and dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Bake pastry items as assigned as well as have the ability to produce all items for which the pastry staff is responsible.
  • Provides planning and direction for the pastry team to fulfill requisitions and orders in a timely manner.
  • Select, train, schedule, supervise, motivate, discipline, and counsel employees according to policies and procedures.
  • Create menu changes seasonally and as needed.
  • Motivate sales staff through presentations to promote Pastry Shop items.
  • Produce and maintain an annual budget. 
  • Seek ways to improve capital and operations of the Pastry Shop.
  • Consistently practice safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
  • Maintain workstation and equipment safety and cleanliness.
  • Inventory items as assigned and maintain records as needed.

Qualifications

  • Able to work flexible hours and days.
  • Two years of management experience in a upscale setting required.
  • Knowledge of pastry and baking products.
  • Previous experience maintaining professional and respectful work relationships.
