Overview

Are you ready to help shape the future of travel and hospitality? CoralTree is seeking a Controller to join our team at Magnolia - St. Louis. As the Controller, you'll provide daily management of the general ledger positions within the accounting department which includes payroll, income audit and staff accountant. You'll have responsibility for the reconciliation and integrity of the general ledger. In addition, you will assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting, routinely providing financial support and analysis to leadership across the property.

Responsibilities

  • Own the finance operations for the Magnolia - St. Louis.
  • Manage the daily operations and work schedules of the income audit, payroll and general ledger.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and positivity, engaging with property leaders to create cooperative success and innovation.
  • Supervise the Accounting team of 2, including interviewing, hiring and evaluating employee performance.
  • Monitor daily operational and flash reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Play a pivotal role in the coordination of audits, both internal and external, turning evaluations into actionable insights and robust controls that safeguard the organization's financial health.
  • Oversee month-end inventories, perform test counts and investigate variances and review the resulting adjustments.
  • Review monthly departmental COGS with a keen eye to ensure the relationship to sales is reasonable and accurate.
  • Investigate discrepancies and implement procedures to remedy incorrect inventory transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • Hospitality background, experience with complex properties including food & beverage finance a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience required (2 direct reports).
  • Experience and confidence presenting to ownership.
  • Solution-oriented leader and team player.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including report writing, excel and power point.

Work location: Magnolia - St. Louis

Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000/yr. + bonus
