Overview

The general purpose of this position is to effectively manage the culinary staff ensuring a successful service and daily projects are accomplished and maintain an independent work environment. Continually exemplify the attributes of property leadership corresponding to the culture of the Artisan Restuarant, while leading through a hands-on, lead-by-example style that creates and fosters a positive work environment.

 

  • Summer season start dates are mid to late May for our seasons, and goes until beginning to the end of October. 

 

  • Winter season start dates are beginning of December and go until mid-April. Employees are encouraged to return for seasons going forward.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a successful Breakfast or Dinner service
  • Responsible for order to be put away in entirety and correctly as specified by Chef De Cuisine
  • Responsible for completion of daily prep items in its entirety
  • Responsible for relaying information to Chef De Cuisine
  • Responsible for training new morning employees
  • Uphold high standard of menu items and make useable suggestions for improvement
  • Delegate/train proper FIFO of products in walk in
  • Maintain a cleanly work area
  • Responsible for quality of products and usage of those said products to decrease food cost
  • Uphold to labor cost guidelines and do so effectively
  • Understands the needs to be cost conscious
  • Adheres to safety standards and ensure safety of others
  • Ensures that staff is following sanitary guidelines
  • Able to make sound decisions without supervision
  • Works professionally with all staff
  • Projects a positive attitude
  • Must participate in weekly chef meetings

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and speak English fluently
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds of weight ten feet or further
  • Must be able to stand on feet for more than 8 hours a day
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Kitchen experience
  • Must be able to follow a recipe
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and lift on uneven surfaces
  • Must have the ability to work in a hot environment

 

Knowledge:

  • Must have a high school degree or equivalent

 

Skills:

  • Must have profound knife skills
  • Must have problem solving skills
  • Must have communication skills
  • Must have sound cooking technique
  • Must be able to follow directions

 

Wage Information:

  • The hourly wage for the position is $23.00 per hour.
