The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for primarily reconciling balance sheet accounts and assisting with month-end journal entries and procedures. The General Ledger Accountant will own the Sunriver Vacation Rentals Owner billing cycle, as well as inventory, recording cost of goods sold, and the monthly purchasing card reconciliation process.

 

The General Ledger Accountant will always conduct him/herself in manner which supports the guiding principles of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment. The General Ledger Accountant shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities

  • Assists managers in troubleshooting variances to budget/forecast
  • Downloads information from subsidiary systems Property Management Systems into the ERP. Monitors all reports and corrects as necessary.
  • Monitors and balances clearing accounts between subsidiary ledger systems and the general ledger on a weekly basis
  • Generates Daily Management Report using Excel
  • Audits reports for accuracy and legitimacy of financial revenues, expenses, and statistics
  • Reconciles assigned accounts on a daily basis, makes adjustments as necessary
  • Reconciles other accounts on a monthly basis as assigned
  • Generates owner statements and bills when appropriate
  • Works with Property Management staff to appropriately reconcile charges and revenues to owner accounts
  • Supports the Director of Membership with processing monthly membership dues payments
  • Files monthly and quarterly taxes with the county and state
  • Maintains neat and organized billing files
  • Ensure that all billings go out with supporting backup for all charges
  • Reconciles monthly purchasing card receipts with the general ledger and posts reclasses as necessary
  • Maintain open communication with all departments.
  • Serves as support to Income Auditor for the balancing of daily postings and revenue
  • Supports reconciliation of all Food and Beverage outlet postings
  • Supports daily reconciliation of Sales, F&B, and Occupancy taxes
  • Assists in monthly inventory as well as cost of sale calculations
  • Attends appropriate department, resort and division meetings
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two or four year degree in accounting preferred
  • At least two years high volume accounting experience preferred
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must be able to perform in a highly confidential environment
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel & Outlook
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
