You will be an integral member of a team of passionate, empowered team members that curates unique dining experiences for our guests. The Restaurant General Manager leads the daily operations of HAVEN Kitchen, In Room Dining, and the Pool.  You will strive to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction and determine training needs to accomplish goals, then implements a plan of action.  High focus on superior guest service, team member engagement, labor management, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Duties include but are not limited to assisting with menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting team members on the floor during peak periods. Ensures clarity around the company's priorities and communicates our direction and vision to team members.
  • Improves service by communicating and assisting team members to understand guest needs, and provides guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
  • Operates open table to book guest reservations and collect guest preferences.
  • Provides financial analytics pertaining to all aspects of the venue and business.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings with staff and reviews the Wave of Information. 
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent guest service and creating a positive professional atmosphere. 
  • Supports on-site/off-site public relations opportunities to promote the hotel F&B offerings. 
  • Prepares forecasts and reports and assists in the development of the food & beverage budget.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings to include ongoing service trainings, feedback sessions, menu knowledge, and safety practices.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of food & beverage and hospitality trends. 
  • Develops and implements controls for expense management.
  • Implements strategies to continually improve revenues.
  • Monitors Revinate scores and social media reviews. Shares with team and ensures service standards are met. 
  • Works closely with vendors to ensure proper cost controls and quality products.
  • Takes a proactive approach to coaching and counseling and recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate.
  • Utilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts.  Adjust schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands.
  • Inspect table set-ups for IRD deliveries; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement with guest's order and departmental standards; rectify deficiencies as needed.
  • Ensures physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the pool, including cabanas and workstations.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the hotel pool.   
  • Develop seasonal training and operations plans for the pool. 
  • Empowers team to exceed service standards.
  • Perform end of month inventory for all assigned areas. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • High performer with the ability to effectively manage guests, team members, leadership team, and outside contacts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 3-5 years leading food & beverage operations in a luxury hotel setting. 
  • College education or equivalent, hotel or business administration degree preferred. 
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, planning, written, and verbal communication skills with an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to proficiently use hotel systems, POS, timekeeping, and any other programs required to meet business needs. (MS Office, Micros, Open Table, Alice, Revinate, ADP, Birchstreet, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable of health department rules and regulations and liquor laws.
  • Solutions-driven and effectively handle guest opportunities.  Empowers team to anticipate, prevent, and identify guest concerns to quickly recover any guest opportunities. 
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
