Overview

Town and Country is looking for an Assistant Controller. Join our team as a Hotel Assistant Controller and become an integral part of our financial operations. In this role, you'll work closely with the Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our hotel's financial processes. Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances and providing insights to support financial decision-making.

  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

  4. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  5. Audit Coordination: Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as needed to ensure compliance with audit requirements.

  6. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and revenue enhancement strategies.

  7. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns and timely payment of taxes.

Qualifications

  1. Financial Expertise: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry.

  2. CPA Certification: CPA certification preferred, but not required.

  3. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound recommendations based on analysis.

  4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  6. Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues across departments to achieve common goals.

  7. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
