Overview

Are you ready to help shape the future of travel and hospitality? CoralTree is seeking a dynamic Director of Finance to support our teams at The Eddy Taproom and Hotel, Hotel Columbia in Telluride, and Pancho & Jane, our new restaurant! This position supervises and directs the financial activities for these three properties in a centralized environment. The ideal candidate will have hospitality accounting experience, preferably with hands-on, multi property experience. This position works in coordination with the hotel support team and is responsible for the timely and accurate financial statement presentation in accordance with GAAP. Responsibilities

 

In this role, you’ll:

  • Oversee the activities of the accounting team on site or within the centralized processing office for the accurate and timely dissemination of the financial statements including the management report package.
  • Prepare, review, and present the monthly financials and the annual forecast projections throughout the year and advise hotel management, corporate office, and owners of any major variances and their impact on the operation.
  • Analyze financial data of operations to educate and advise hotel staff and management on the value and benefits of internal controls and maintaining an efficient operation.
  • Assist and counsel all department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability.
  • Support reconciliations for weekly cash, credit card, AR, payroll, and tips.
  • Manage the daily income audit, chargebacks, and monthly sales and use tax returns.
  • Coordinate the maximization of labor productivity and educate the property team on how to achieve expected labor standards.
  • Ensure compliance on regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, and proper execution of operational tax obligations including Sales and Transient occupancy taxes.
  • Lead financial review on ownership calls and act as the liaison between the property and owners.
  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues including monthly cash flow statements for owners.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for review by the regional finance leader and assist in the timely clearing of reconciling items.
  • Work with the hotel management team to adhere to and update financial SOPs.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A college graduate (degree in accounting preferred) OR equivalent experience.
  • Experienced with at least 3 years as hotel controller, preferably with at least 1 year of f&b exposure.
  • A people manager / supervisor with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Familiar with Oracle and Profitsword.
  • Able to travel to our properties or home office as needed (no more than 25% travel).

This is a hybrid position based in Colorado with time spent at The Eddy Taproom and Hotel, Pancho & Jane, the CoralTree Home Office in Englewood, and some travel to Hotel Columbia in Telluride.

Salary range: $115,00 - $125,000/yr. + bonus
