Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef De Cuisine in menu planning, recipe development, and daily specials, ensuring consistency and high quality in all dishes.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and service during peak hours.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring proper techniques and standards are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to create and implement seasonal menus that reflect the restaurant's fine dining concept.
  • Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the restaurant’s presentation and taste standards.
  • Monitor food costs and assist with budgeting to ensure profitability without compromising quality.
  • Take charge of kitchen operations in the Chef’s absence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and trends.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen regulations.
  • Creativity and passion for culinary excellence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
