Overview

The Pool Technician at The Woodlands Resort is responsible for the care of pools , and the upkeep of pool facilities and decks property wide

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and maintain swimming pools to ensure they are safe and clean for guest use.
  • Routinely test water, handle and install pool chemicals to maintain proper chemical balance and water quality.
  • Maintain pools and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners.
  • Skim, brush and vacuum pools.
  • Clean and service swimming pool filtration units.
  • Respond to swimming pool related work orders in a timely and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
  • Assess and fix lights, drains, skimmers, tile, or other pool related items above and below water level.
  • Maintain clean pump houses, pools, decks, pool furniture and surrounding areas
  • Fit and repair pipes and plumbing for pools.
  • Perform minor repairs on pumps and pool equipment.
  • Maintain records of water tests, chemical adjustments and other work performed for each pool.
  • Clean and maintain pool decks, including outdoor furniture.
  • Exterior maintenance to include pressure washing buildings and boardwalks etc.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility. This is a demanding business and we look for flexibility with work days and hours, but it’s also a lot of fun! 
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred - At least one (1) year of general swimming pools maintenance.
  • Knowledge of proper pool cleaning and maintenance methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of swimming pool chemicals and their properties.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma.
  • Ability to operate without direct supervision and be self-motivated, persistent, confident, tenacious, and take pride in work.
  • Flexibility in work hours and schedule; job may occasionally require working long hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and neatly groomed.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environment subject to changing weather conditions and temperatures exceeding 90 degrees at times.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing more than 50 lbs.
  • Must have valid drivers’ license.
  • Previous building maintenance experience - Preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older.
