Job Summary

Embark on an exciting journey with us as a full-time Director of Finance at CoralTree Residences Vail. Join our Finance team and be part of the CoralTree Residence Collection, a renowned choice for managing premium and luxury residential resorts and boutique hotels. Our small finance team is defined by individuals with a genuine purpose, pride, and a strong sense of place.

The ideal candidate will oversee all financial aspects of the organization and ensure the company's financial health. This individual will be vital in developing financial strategies, managing financial reporting, and leading the finance team.

The Director of Finance will be based in Vail and directly oversee the financial reporting, accounting, tax and risk management functions of the Vail Residential Resort management business. This role oversees the financial reporting and provides leadership support to the Assistant Director of Finance, Finance Manager and Staff Accountant.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements, including variance reports
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations with timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Lead budget and forecast preparation in a collaborative environment including participation with preparing and presenting multiple business plans
  • Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, looking at the past and into the future
  • Meet with department heads to review monthly financial statements and forecasts
  • Review and approve all disbursements
  • Manage the annual audit process and delegate audit tasks to the finance team, including HOA audits and reviews
  • Ensure compliance on regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts and proper execution of operational tax obligations, including monthly state sales tax filings
  • Assist in strategic planning and management meetings, providing financial guidance to the executive team
  • Oversee accounting and budgeting for capital expenditures
  • Responsible for presenting financial reports to owners and HOA’s.
  • Foster a team environment with a focus on teamwork, personal and professional development, and autonomy
  • Work with People Services to ensure a high performing and high functioning finance team
  • Responsible for regular team member reviews and interviewing and hiring when required
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other external partners
  • Maintain and update month end close checklists to maximize efficiency of the accounting team

Qualifications

Preferred and Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred)
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role, with at least 1 direct report
  • Hospitality background, experience with complex and multi-property setup
  • Strong understanding of financial data analysis and forecasting
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Solution-oriented leader with previous supervisory experience required
  • Ability to make strategic financial decisions
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
  • Minimum two years of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience
  • Minimum of two years in property management accounting
  • Experience with accounting systems -MS Office, ProfitSword, PMS, Oracle
  • Experience in income audit, AP, and general accounting transactions
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Excel spreadsheet applications
  • Possess knowledge of general payroll functions
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously, with little direction and oversight.
  • Must be able to perform general job duties while multi-tasking
  • Ability to work and communicate well with co-workers, vendors, guests, and owners
  • Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to motivate a team and lead with the utmost moral and ethical judgement.
  • Ability to work remotely as desired and in a collaborative office environment.

 

Wage

Pay range $120,000 to $130,000 salary, plus annual Incentive Compensation bonus plan.
