Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, close duties as assigned, tax reporting, investor reporting and audit request preparation. This includes ownership of all aspects of these functions including possessing a detailed understanding of how to perform each function and collaborating with other team members to ensure the accurate and on-time completion of tasks. This position will be expected to be on-site approximately three days per week.

 

Salary: $78,000.00/year

Responsibilities

  • General ledger entries and review including:
    • Payroll related entries
    • Fixed asset related entries
    • Lease entries
    • Accrual and prepaid entries
    • Deferred revenue
    • Tax accruals and payments
  • Balance sheet reconciliation including:
    • Bank accounts
    • Payroll accounts
    • Accounts receivable
    • Prepaids
    • Accruals
    • Leases
  • Participate in the timely and accurate closing of month end
  • Participate in monthly investor reporting requirements, ensure on-time and accurate delivery of reporting
  • Understand intercompany charges and coordinate with other accounting staff to bill and collect those charges appropriately
  • Manage p-card program
  • Support year-end audit requests, in partnership with Controller
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting tasks; work with Controller to implement these improvements
  • Cross-train with Controller function
  • Seek out opportunities to create strong partnerships with internal customers and seek to create high levels of trust and collaboration
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3-5 years experience, preferably with resort hospitality industry experience, in a comparable role
  • Previous audit and account reconciliation experience
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to work under a deadline with competing priorities
  • General comfort in learning new technology and teaching others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong Excel proficiency
  • Experience with Oracle accounting software preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting issues to business partners
  • Comfortable working in teams and independently
