Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Purchasing Manager to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. As the Purchasing Manager, you will be an integral member of the team that leads the pre-opening efforts and stewards the dynamic relationships across all key stakeholders including, Ownership, CoralTree Hospitality and Asset Management to ensure strategic alignment towards the hotel opening and beyond.  Your efforts significantly influence the unique and distinctive experiences we seek to deliver to our guests and team members alike. Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities related to the Purchasing operations and implement and enforce all control procedures for hotel goods entering through the purchasing/receiving areas.
  • Utilize property approved purchasing / inventory control software for stock levels based on pars, fulfillment of requisitions, receipt and distribution of goods.
  • Responsible for ensuring that performance measures are achieved and communicated accordingly when required inventory levels are not met.
  • Optimize, plan, manage and control the budget for logistics and warehousing lead for a diverse workforce in a 24 hour/7 day per week operation.
  • Periodically audit operational procedures and programs related to shipping and receiving and implements necessary improvements to achieve expectations for availability, storage, sanitation, and security of inventory.
  • Responsible for directing the inventory control as to out-of-stocks, receiving errors, selection errors, and warehouse slotting of products.
  • Managing the efficient loading and unloading of trucks, work safety management and training, and federal/state/local regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and or requisitions for replacement.
  • Ensure/prepare all requested or assigned reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with sanitary procedures.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring procedures and protocols.
  • Establish and nurture vendor partnerships as they pertain to deliveries and product discrepancies.
  • Monitor Purchase Orders (PO) in system, ensure all orders get processed correctly, investigate open PO’s at end of month and contact buyer or vendor to address any discrepancy.
  • Manage Banquet Event Orders and make orders accordingly.
  • Attend weekly operations and food & beverage meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 4 years of purchasing experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher.
  • Proven experience in operations management or related roles within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and inventory control techniques.
  • Proficiency in utilizing inventory management software and MS Excel for data analysis.
  • Service oriented with a sense of urgency and ownership, problem solving skills, organized, proficient in training, team building and leadership.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally. 
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat).

Salary range: $62,000 - $73,000/yr.
