Overview

We’re seeking a dynamic Director of Purchasing to lead and optimize our procurement operations. As a vital part of our leadership team, you’ll ensure that our resort has the highest-quality products and services at the best value, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional guest experiences. #TowncountrySD Pay Range $100,000.00 - $110,000.00

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with the resort’s operational and financial goals.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Cost Optimization: Monitor and analyze purchasing budgets, implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage inventory levels, ensuring seamless operations for departments, including food & beverage, facilities, and events.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Drive eco-friendly purchasing practices to support the resort’s sustainability goals.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, providing detailed reports on purchasing activities and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement leadership, preferably in hospitality or a large resort setting.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices is a plus.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, including during meetings, office work, and on-site inventory inspections.
  • Frequent walking, bending, and reaching as needed for warehouse or storage area oversight.
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to use standard office and procurement tools, including computers and telecommunication devices.
