We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Kitchen Expeditor to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team! The Kitchen Expeditor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the kitchen to the serving staff, contributing to a seamless dining experience for guests. They are responsible for coordinating communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring that orders are accurately prepared and promptly delivered for various outlets.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving food orders from serving staff and communicating them effectively to the kitchen team. Ensure that orders are complete, accurate, and prioritized based on timing and special requests.
  • Monitoring the progress of orders in the kitchen and coordinating with serving staff to ensure timely delivery to guests. Communicate any delays or issues to both the kitchen and front-of-house teams promptly.
  • Inspecting outgoing orders to verify that they meet quality standards and match the customers' specifications. Address any discrepancies or errors before sending orders to the dining area.
  • Managing special requests or dietary restrictions communicated by guests, ensuring that they are accommodated appropriately in meal preparation and presentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen area. Monitor cleanliness and organization to maintain a hygienic work environment.
  • Working collaboratively with kitchen staff, serving staff, and management to optimize workflow and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during service.
  • Providing training and guidance to new staff members on kitchen expo procedures, communication protocols, and customer service standards.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employees
  • Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • All side-work thoroughly done in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in ongoing training and encourage the personal development of all associates/coworkers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment preferred, with exposure to food service operations and order management.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve in high-stress situations.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
