Overview

As the Lead Server, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-of-house team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high service standards. This role combines leadership with excellent customer service, requiring you to lead by example, train and support staff, and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

 

Hourly rate: $18.00/hour

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of servers, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service.
  • Train new servers on company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintain a welcoming and positive environment for guests, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Ensure servers are adhering to proper health and safety standards, including cleanliness and food handling.
  • Assist with setting up and closing down the restaurant, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Monitor table turnover rates and manage seating arrangements to optimize restaurant flow.
  • Handle guest complaints and concerns with professionalism, working to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing stock levels for front-of-house.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement promotional strategies and menu updates.
  • Provide feedback to staff on performance, offering support to help improve service and teamwork.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the menu, specials, and promotions to accurately inform guests and upsell items.
  • Ensure all cash and credit transactions are handled accurately, following company protocols.

Qualifications

Prerequisites:
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and an enthusiastic team player who displays good human relations’ skills.
• Must be flexible in working hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
