Overview

This position will consistently strive to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of services and prices as well as detailing of events at Magnolia Hotel Denver continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Will target and win over business via outside sales calls, hosting site inspections, planner meetings, cold calling, emailing, networking, attending industry association events, etc. Will also work with client to detail the events and will then communicate these details to the hotel team.

 

Salary range: $58,000 - $62,000 annually

Responsibilities

Responsible for the deployment of departmental actions and catering strategies to meet team and company goals and for the internal and external communications required to deliver excellent guest service and satisfaction. Develop catering sales plan, goals, and strategies. Prospect, solicit, and close new business as well as maintain repeat clients. Meet with clients to work out the details of their functions. Effectively communicate details of events to hotel team. Escort clients through the property and highlight features of facility as well as available services. Work with F&B Director and Banquet Manager to establish policy standards, procedures, operational guidelines, service manual Review, and co-ordinate with chef's creative menus and new product ideas. Meet & greet clients on event dates and supervise as needed. General knowledge of conference technology and audio visual needs. Entertain prospective clients and give tours of event space, outlets, and guest rooms. Keep updated on current sales trends within the market and the competitive set. Represent the Hotel in trade shows, industry organizations, and community events. Attend all required meetings within the Hotel. Ensure that contracts, billing, etc are processed accurately. Participate in industry and community organizations to build your network and help bring in business. Attend functions to ensure things are going smoothly and clients are satisfied. Additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Sales are the revenue catalyst for the Hotel. Our Sales Managers regardless of segment must possess the traits and behaviors inherent to sales success. A sampling of the desired qualifications we look for include: Previous hospitality experience, sales experience is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with clients, Hotel staff, and government officials. Organizational/time management skills, with the ability to successfully multi-task assignments. Strategic planning skills regarding sales, booking process, prospecting and following up on sales leads. Previous CITY experience is a plus. Understanding of sales contracts, and experience in negotiations. Experience with sales management software and use of social media outlets and applications as a sales tool. Experience in writing and administering sales related contracts. Attention to detail is a must.
