Overview

From elegant weddings to large-scale corporate galas, our events reflect our commitment to excellence. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Banquet Captain to lead our banquet team in delivering seamless and exceptional service. As Banquet Captain, you will oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring every detail is executed to perfection. With your leadership skills and passion for hospitality, you will motivate and guide the banquet team to provide outstanding service and create memorable experiences for our guests.  Pay Rate $17.25 #TowncountrySD

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise banquet staff during event setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Review and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring all event details are followed precisely.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, audiovisual, and other departments to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings to communicate responsibilities and expectations to the team.
  • Monitor the flow of service during events, ensuring guest satisfaction and resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and safety in banquet areas.
  • Train and mentor banquet staff to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.
  • Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of banquet supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in banquet operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and management.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more).
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds (e.g., tables, chairs, and banquet equipment).
  • Perform repetitive motions such as bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with periods of high activity.
