We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Bar Supervisor to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team! Focusing on our new high-end bar, located on the top floor of our iconic tower. This high-volume requires a passion for craft cocktails and live entertainment. The new hot spot in Fort Lauderdale will offer luxury products and service, in a dynamic environment.  

 

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage and Pier Top General Manager – Restaurant and Bar Operations, this role will be responsible for leading the Bar operation with passion and creativity, ensuring exceptional five-star service. This role will require assisting other F&B Outlets as needed.  

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and mentoring bar staff, including bartenders, barbacks, and servers, to ensure exceptional service and adherence to resort standards.
  • Overseeing all aspects of bar operations, including inventory management, ordering, and stocking, to maintain sufficient supplies and uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborating with the beverage manager to develop and update cocktail menus, wine lists, and specialty drink offerings, ensuring they reflect current trends and guest preferences.
  • Training and coaching bar staff on cocktail preparation techniques, presentation standards, and customer service best practices to enhance guest satisfaction and drive beverage sales.
  • Monitoring beverage quality and presentation, providing feedback and guidance to bartenders to maintain consistency and excellence in drink preparation.
  • Handling guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed guest expectations and resolve issues to their satisfaction.
  • Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the service and sale of alcoholic beverages, including age verification and responsible service practices.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, equipment, and storage areas, in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as food and beverage and guest services, to enhance the overall guest experience and drive revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a luxury hotel or resort bar environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Excellent knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits, with a passion for mixology and beverage innovation.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy service periods.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality management or bartending is a plus.
