We are looking for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals with an eye for detail to join our opening team at the Kaiya Beach House. Service team members will provide light food & beverage service in our 1st and 2nd floor lounge areas as well as by our pool with stunning Gulf Coast views. You will be interacting daily with our discerning owners, club members and vacation renters and their families who are in search of the best service experience while being able to relax and enjoy the peace and serenity of Kaiya and the surrounding area.

 

This position will plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets, in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Works efficiently and effectively to gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store quality ingredients.
  • Prepare basic food items in kitchen and handle all production tasks in a timely manner.
  • Performs a variety of butchering tasks, such as trimming and cutting. Support all other cooks in their preparation tasks. Assist Sous Chefs in maintaining order and dealing with unexpected situations.
  • Good working knowledge of kitchen systems and good knife skills are a must.
  • Be able to withstand large workload under high heat.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards.
  • Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  •  A minimum formal education of a high school diploma.
  • Excellent customer service focus and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret/extract information and/or perform arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

 

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

  • Standing for 6-8 hours per day
  • Lifting up to 50 lb.
  • Repetitive bending, lifting, stooping, climbing, and walking.
  • Generally Normal Temperatures with occasional indoor/outdoor extreme temperatures.
  • May have exposure to basic office supply chemicals.
