The Engineering Supervisor assumes a leadership role within the department and is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in all aspects of supervising the resort’s Engineering Department. Is available to update information to other departments and helps prioritize work orders. Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and painting work. Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Engineering leadership team. Must have a complete working knowledge of all phases of building maintenance to include, but not limited to: grounds, exterior of building, roof maintenance, kitchen, laundry, refrigeration equipment, TV and sound equipment, electrical power distribution, plumbing, local and national codes, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, water treatment, air conditioning, cooling towers, motors, transformers, generators, fire prevention and life safety, kitchen exhaust systems, Ansul systems, fire hoses, pools and spas, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, assign, and /or verify completion of routine and emergency maintenance and the operation of the physical structure of the resort, all mechanical systems and any other systems which affect the operation of the facility.
  • Ensure the highest quality work standards are being performed by staff, in all tasks and assignments according to performance and safety standards
  • Ensure the execution of exemplary customer service standards by self and staff at all times, in all areas.
  • Assist with selection, training, supervision, development, discipline and counseling of staff in accordance with departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in utilization of HotSOS work order systems and distribute workflow in the most efficient manner.
  • Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and materials for the department
  • Support and assure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support and assure compliance of all local, state, and federal regulations,
  • Assist with the implementation of safety programs
  • Attend staff meetings if/when requested.
  • Perform any necessary repairs or maintenance as required or assigned.
  • Assist in Performance Evaluations for associates
  • Perform Risk Management duties as assigned or required
  • Conduct self as a resource for all departments of the resort
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and integrity of mechanical areas, shops, tool carts and tools
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Engineering Operations. Manager
  • Available for emergency contact or response if necessary
  • Available to work any shift as deemed necessary by the Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering or Director of Operations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support property sustainability efforts

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory / experience in Facilities/Engineering/Construction environment.
  • Proven track record of leading an efficient work force
  • Proven ability to take charge and work with minimum supervision. Enjoys challenges and situations where solutions are not obvious. Ability to make correct decisions in a high stress environment. Ability to multitask various problems or assignments.
  • Must have extensive working knowledge of building systems to include, but not limited to; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, roofs, building finishes, mechanical operations, energy management, Life Safety Systems and Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics and technical manuals.
  • Experience in coordinating/managing/supervising hospitality capital improvement projects

Compensation:

 

Base Pay Start Rate: $38/Hr. - $40/Hr. depending on experience and certifications
