Overview

Town and Country Resort is a premier San Diego destination featuring 671 guest rooms and nearly 295,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Our high-volume pastry operation supports banquets, fine dining, and large-scale conventions, delivering exceptional baked goods and desserts. We are seeking a Pastry Cook to join our talented culinary team.The Pastry Cook is responsible for the preparation and execution of high-quality pastries, breads, and desserts under the guidance of the Pastry Chef. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Pay Range $20.40 - $21.40 #TowncountrySD

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake pastries, breads, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Assist in the production of items for banquets, fine dining, and large-scale events while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Properly measure and mix ingredients, ensuring accuracy and precision in all recipes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Monitor baking temperatures, cooking times, and ingredient freshness to ensure product excellence.
  • Assist with plating and garnishing desserts for service.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines and kitchen safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with the pastry team and assist with daily prep work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen, hotel, or banquet setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with classic and modern pastry techniques, including doughs, mousses, custards, and chocolate work.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for high-quality presentation.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior pastry team members.
  • Open availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Food handler's card

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours per shift).
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-temperature kitchen environment.
  • Manual dexterity required for detailed pastry work.
