Overview

This position is responsible for assisting and providing support to the recreation department by arranging, executing and observing all indoor and outdoor activities and ensuring they are done so in a safe manner. Using a creative assortment of methods, assist in the promotion of recreation operations and activities to internal and external sources.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all recreation offerings and be able to clearly articulate to guests
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedure, and standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Be familiar with all hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Resolve guest requests, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Take inventory of all supplies and equipment
  • Set up/close activity areas
  • Stock, display and rent recreational equipment and retail
  • Work with guest service to ensure accurate reservations and bookings
  • Maintain pool areas by removing any trash and/or dirty towels
  • Assist in the operation of the resorts pool slide
  • Ensure all guests are following rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of previous recreation experience.
    • Must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in a hospitality or resort environment preferred.
    • Ability to provide legible communication and directions.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor and outdoor working environment and the noise level in the work place is usually moderate to high.
    • Typical equipment used include but are not limited radios, cleaning supplies, handheld devices, phones, and computers.
