Come join our team at the brand-new Lake House Restaurant! Set in the community of Caldera Springs the Lake Houses is set to open mid-June 2024. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment this beautiful restaurant with a brand-new state of the art kitchen is the perfect place for you!

 

The Cook is responsible for cooking, preparing, and garnishing all hot food and cold food for Restaurants, Amenities, Room Service, Banquets, Sunday Brunch and all Catered events. The Cook I will assist to maintain the AAA Four Diamond Standards.

 

The Cook will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment

 

They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times and for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities

  • Works with culinary team to prepare exceptional quality food
  • Leads by example, supports and demonstrates strong leadership in the culinary areas
  • Assists in the daily production of the Lake House restaurant
  • Maintains and completes daily prep lists and tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef
  • Ensures food, garnishments and plate presentations are adhered to standards
  • Produces recipes efficiently and consistently
  • Ensures portion necessities and portion control for all food functions are recipes, especially high cost items
  • Inspects food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices
  • Follows all HACCP guidelines
  • Prepares food in accordance with working menus, recipe cards, and photograph standards
  • Ensures food is prepared within adequate timeframe and meal is served at the appropriate temperature
  • Maintains and stock the set-up of the line
  • Ensures equipment and supplies are properly stored
  • Provides general resort information for guests
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name when possible & good eye contact with each guest
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment
  • Reports to work on time as designated by posted schedule
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • High school education preferred
  • At least one year kitchen/prep experience or one year of culinary school preferred
